Welcome to Campaigning Through Time, a ‘historum’ for the discussion of military history and the archiving of current events and commemoration. As founders, our goals were to create a community that would last, that would pride itself on purposeful discussion and relaxed moderation, and would ultimately nurture and encourage interest in military history. Working with the University of Kent's Military History Society and their network of students and alumni, we hope to extend military history to all who wish to learn more. All are welcome!

The Committee of the UKC Military History Society would like to wish everyone a happy Christmas and New Year, term has now officially ended and Canterbury will slowly be emptied of students, however some die-hards (otherwise known as international students) will remain.

Next term we hope to visit the newly renovated Imperial War Museum London and the National Maritime Museum Greenwich, we will also hold a trip to the National Archives at Kew if there is enough demand. The price of these trips will be heavily subsardised due to the group save discounts we will receive, more attendance equals lower price so tell your friends. We are also hoping to hold a big trip, similar to our trip to the Defence Capability Centre last academic year.

So far this year has been very successful for the society with a large intake of first year members, some of whom will undoubtedly go on to be the future leaders of the society, pending a free and fair democratic election/coup. You will not have a very hard act to follow, so if you mess it up may limited airstrikes be carried out on you with RAF surplus Tornado's and Apache's, in which hellfire and brimstone rain down upon you.

The forum has also gone from strength to strength with a lot of new members. Remember to keep writing over the Christmas period and that once your essays have been modulated you can post them in our essay bank to help students of the future. There is also a module review section where you can post reviews about modules you enjoyed this will help people select modules best to their tastes in the future.

Merry Christmas from
President Oliver KG, DFC and Bar
and the rest of the Committee

UKC Military History Society President, 2013-2015
